The Gates of Justice is a massive structure that opens into a water current called the Tarai Current leading to either Impel Down or Enies Lobby. The front of the scaffold, which is a plain and empty area, is known as the Oris Plaza ( オリス広場, Orisu Hiroba ?), where the Ox Bell stands at the front. On the center of the island is an execution scaffold, and around it is a small town with trees around the area. It is mostly home to the families of the Marines stationed at Marineford. The majority of the island is occupied by Marineford Town ( マリンフォードの町, Marinfōdo no Machi ?), which is noted to be rather large, especially compared to most other towns and cities in the world.

Marineford Bay ( マリンフォード湾, Marinfōdo-wan ?) has the Encircling Wall ( 包囲壁, Hōiheki ?) installed all around of the island, which is composed of thick and high steel walls that emerge from under the sea, surrounding and trapping anyone who is inside the said area these walls are resistant to even Whitebeard's shock waves, and have cannons installed in windows at the top, allowing the Marines to barrage the entrapped targets. Around the building's four cardinal corners is a small mountain with a small building on top and a flag with the Marines' symbol placed on top of the roofs each. The building is a large multistory ancient Japanese-stylized palace, with the base bearing the kanji for "Marines" ( 海軍, Kaigun ?), with the Marines symbol in between.
At the back of the island, standing large, tall and proud is the Marine Headquarters building. Marineford is a crescent moon-shaped island that is composed completely of bricks and steel, with cannons on the edges. By the end of their battle, Luffy was able to visualize Katakuri’s next moves extremely well, and develop his Haki enough to dodge many of Katakuri’s attacks and prevent Katakuri from dodging his.Īfter leaving Totto Land, Luffy has been able to dodge attacks with ease, as shown when he took out a Beasts Pirates scout in Wano Country and soon afterwards dodged multiple strikes from the sumo master Urashima without displaying any effort. While in Totto Land, he strengthened this Haki by battling Charlotte Katakuri, who had mastered this Haki enough to enable him to see a little bit into the future. Since training with Silvers Rayleigh, Luffy have gained incredible proficiency in Kenbunshoku Haki, allowing him to tell what an opponent intends to do. Katakuri’s Haki can only be nullified if he stops being calm and collected. With this ability, Katakuri is nearly untouchable, and he has stated that it had been years since someone laid a hand on him before Luffy managed to land a hit on him. Since he is still technically physically dodging the attack, even attacks imbued with Busoshoku Haki will pass through him without harming him. Since he can see slightly into the future, he can predict precisely where an attack will land, allowing him time to dissolve his mochi body out of harm’s way, making it seem as if the attacks simply pass through him. He can use his Haki in conjunction with his Devil Fruit power to great effect. Katakuri can use his precognition to increase the accuracy of his attacks to such a degree that Luffy, who is a highly skilled Kenbunshoku Haki user himself, could barely dodge his assaults. Katakuri has extraordinary mastery of Kenbunshoku Haki, having trained to such a degree that he can see slightly ahead into the future.
